I am sourcing a 10.25-inch fixed wireless Apple CarPlay retrofit for a left-hand-drive 2008 BMW 118i E87. The car has the original BMW Professional radio, AUX, no factory iDrive screen, and an upper dashboard storage compartment. Its measured opening is approximately 24 cm wide × 13 cm deep (height not measured).
Please confirm for the exact model/hardware version you propose:
1.Exact product/model number and whether this is specifically for a no-screen E87 with the upper storage box, rather than a CCC/CIC screen replacement requiring a factory LVDS display.

-Yes, there’s no need to cut or drill into the dashboard or interior plastic trim. You’ll need to remove the storage compartment, then install the plastic mounting bracket we provide before installing our Android screen.
After installation, the BMW Professional radio will still function; audio from the Android system is routed through the AUX channel to the original system for playback.
3.For a Wireless CarPlay phone call, does the other caller hear the external microphone connected to the unit? Can the built-in microphone be disabled? Please distinguish CarPlay calls from Android Bluetooth calls and voice assistant use, and provide a video/demo or written model-specific technical confirmation.
-If you make calls using CarPlay, you must use the Android system’s microphone.
If you make calls using the original Bluetooth system, you can use the vehicle’s original microphone.

For all calls handled through the Android system, only the Android microphone can be used.
